I’ve been thinking a lot about how many different parts of myself I try to separate.

The work self. The creative self. The personal self. The person who watches everything and has opinions. The person who is building things. The person who is still figuring out what to carry and what to put down.

For a long time, I think I tried to keep all of those parts in different rooms.

Film and television over here. Writing over there. Producing somewhere else. Life lessons tucked away in a notebook. The stuff I was ready to release, I kept quiet about until I could make sense of it. But the truth is, all of it has always been connected.

The stories I watch shape the way I see the world. And to expand on that thinking, the stories we tell ourselves shape how we move through it. The stories we inherit can become the ones we spend years trying to understand, rewrite, or finally let go.

That is why I wanted one place where the different parts of my work could live together.

This is not just one thing.

It is where I can review stuff I’m watching. It is where I can put Let’s Talk About It…" speaking on film, TV, culture, marketing, media, and storytelling. It is where The Watchers podcast can live as a space for conversations around movies. It is where The Release List can grow as a place for reflection, writing, and letting go. It is where the creative work I’m building has a home.

And maybe more than anything, it is where I can stop pretending those things are separate.

Because they are not.

A movie can make you think about your childhood. A television show can remind you of something you thought you had released. A piece of culture can reveal what we value, what we avoid, and what we keep repeating. A writing prompt can open up the same kind of truth a great scene does.

That is the thread for me.

Stories.

The ones we watch. The ones we write. The ones we market. The ones we build. The ones we carry. The ones we finally put down.

So this space is going to move the way my mind moves.

Sometimes it will be a review. Sometimes it will be an essay. Sometimes it will be a note about the industry. Sometimes it will be about a film, a show, a moment, or our culture, or a question I cannot stop thinking about. Sometimes it will be about releasing something that is on my mind.

I will be here or in my other publications.

I’m not interested in making this perfect. I’m interested in making it honest.

A home base does not have to be polished within an inch of its life. It just has to hold the things that matter.

That is what I am building here.

A place to watch. A place to write. A place to create. A place to let go.

The Watchers is where I share video reviews, podcast conversations, and thoughts on what we are watching, why it works, and why it stays with us.

The Release List™ is my reflection and writing practice about letting go, making room, and telling the truth on the page, inspired by my book, The Release List: Tools and Tales for Letting Go.

I will also share updates from the creative work I am building, including Killer Shot Films, the film company I co-founded, where we are developing commercial horror, suspense, and genre projects.

I love writing. I love stories. I love scripts. I love movies. I love television. I love the business of media. I love the way a movie, TV show, scene, a line, a performance, or a cultural moment can stay with you longer than expected.

I love marketing when it is lightning in a bottle and captures people’s attention.

That is what I want this space to hold.
